Frequently asked questions

Do I need a buyer agreement in Washington?

Yes. Since January 1, 2024, Washington law requires a written buyer brokerage services agreement before a broker performs services for a buyer. I'll walk you through it at our first meeting.

Should I get pre-approved before touring homes?

Yes. A lender pre-approval tells you your budget and makes your offer stronger. I can introduce local lenders, and you're always free to choose your own.

How long does it take to buy a home?

It varies with the market and your financing. Once an offer is accepted, closing commonly takes about 30 to 45 days, and your purchase agreement sets the exact dates.

What's different about buying rural property here?

Many rural homes use a private well and septic system, and water rights matter. Read my wells and septic and water rights guides.
